String Theory choreographs an ensemble of
lines in an energetic dance through space. Visitors are simultaneously engaged
spectators viewing the performance in the round and part of the cast
intermingling with each other and the lines.
String Theory’s ambition is to allow visitors to move through and around its spaces reframing the landscape of the waterfront and re-engaging with one another. Visitors can hang on the lines, tug on the lines lean back on the lines, witness the results of snow and ice accumulation on the lines.
The lines define a series of spaces, where visitors can enter. Their movement through and around these spaces engages them in a transforming perception of the line; line as geometric order, line as surface, line as a frame, line as movement.
